Description

Ji Xue Formula (Huang Qi Ji Xue Wan) is a formula based on recent Chinese research demonstrating that millettia (Ji Xue teng) and astragalus (Huang Qi) have the ability to promote the production of new white blood cells. The toxicity caused by chemotherapy leads to various patterns of blood deficiency, stagnation, and heat-toxins, as well as weakened digestive function. Ji Xue Formula, as the name suggests, serves to protect and enhance the body’s ability to remain nourished and vital with healthy blood. Astragalus and milletia tonify qi and help the body produce and circulate healthy blood. Polygonum (He Shou Wu), Tang Kuei (Dang Gui), Rehmania (Shu Di Huang), and Red Peony (Chi Shao) help nourish and invigorate the blood. Coix (Yi Yi Ren) drains dampness. It was included in this formula to drain dampness, which often occurs as a result of damage to the qi and the digestive system.

Action according to Traditional Chinese Medicine: Nourishes blood and Qi, enriches essence (Jing), invigorates blood, and promotes the smooth flow of Qi; promotes healthy digestion, drains dampness, and resolves toxic heat.
