Description
Solgar L-Glutamine is a food supplement that provides the amino acid L-glutamine in its free form, allowing for maximum absorption. This amino acid crosses the blood-brain barrier where it is converted into glutamic acid, one of the nutrients for the brain to function properly.
It is classified as a non-essential amino acid (i.e. it can be produced by the body), but as it serves as fuel for the muscles in certain situations, the demand for glutamine increases and the body is unable to produce enough. For example, during intense exercise, glutamine reserves are depleted because the body is under stress and the muscles and tendons need more of this amino acid. In this case, to reduce muscle destruction, it is necessary to obtain glutamine through the diet. Natural sources of glutamine are meat, fish, cottage cheese, asparagus and broccoli.
It is free from: sugar, salt, starch, gluten, wheat, dairy products, soy, yeast, preservatives, sweeteners, flavorings and artificial colorings. Suitable for vegans.
